Telephone Sampling
Still a leading methodology
Telephone sampling is an important and widely used methodology, according to ESOMAR's Global Market Research 2008 report. It is also the method preferred by political and academic researchers for whom the control of quality and sampling bias are of paramount importance.
SSI has been offering telephone sampling since 1977. In fact, we started the commercial sampling business
with our first telephone based sampling products. SSI is the preeminent supplier of telephone sample to survey research agencies in the US, Canada, Europe, Latin America, Australia, and Asia.

Incidence rate is a key factor in phone sampling
Incidence refers to the percent of contacts that will pass the screening questions in a telephone interview. Generally when any person (above the minimum age in that country) will qualify for the interview, SSI recommends an incidence rate of 90% to account for a language or other possible communication problem.
