SSI Charitable Donations Pass the $1.5 Million Dollar Mark
Sampling solutions provider has been dedicated to helping those in need for nearly a decade
Shelton, Connecticut, USA, September 21, 2009 - Survey Sampling International (SSI) is pleased to announce that its charitable outreach programs recently reached nearly USD $1.6 million. Since 2001, SSI has been supporting causes that aid the millions of people who are in need throughout the world on behalf of its 6 million OpinionWorld and SurveySpot panelists.
"Supporting humanitarian efforts is not new to SSI, just as it is not unique to any responsible company," says Kees de Jong, CEO of SSI. "It isn't about the popular thing to do - it's about the right thing to do. Giving back is part of SSI's culture. We're committed to social responsibility and have dedicated efforts to charity for nearly a decade."
"Our panelists also take our charity program seriously," de Jong continues. "At the end of a survey, we ask them to choose a charity. Although the donation does not come out of their reward or incentive, they are part of the experience. I believe this is one of the reasons the people who take our surveys are so engaged and committed to the research process."
SSI is also proud that many of its clients make charitable contributions on behalf of those who participate in their surveys. SSI client donations have been made to organizations including the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Alzheimer's Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and Save the Children.
SSI donates to approximately 45 charities around the world on behalf of OpinionWorld and SurveySpot members and focuses on environmental protection, social/development work, and health issues. These humanitarian agencies include World Wildlife Fund, Amnesty International, UNICEF, War Child International, SOS Children's Villages, and the Jane Goodall Institute.
The sampling solutions provider also aids emergency relief efforts, most recently the bush fire victims in Australia and the earthquake victims in Italy. Last year, SSI donated $50,000 to the Red Cross for relief efforts in China and in Myanmar.
"We're all part of one global community," de Jong stresses. "It's important that we use the resources we have to help others. After all, SSI is about people."
