SSI Promotes Derek Brown to Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand

-- SSI Business Grows in the Region  --

SHELTON, Conn., Aug. 1, 2017 –  Derek Brown, a 20-year veteran of the market research industry, was recently promoted to country manager for Australia and New Zealand at SSI.  In his new role, Brown is managing the sales and client services teams for both countries as the company expands its business development activities in the region.  He is based in Sydney and reports directly to Mark Lepine, SSI’s managing director, APAC.

Since joining SSI in 2014, Brown has operated as a business development manager and sales director for the ANZ region.  From 2004 to 2014, Brown worked at ORC International in its Melbourne offices as a national operations manager and then as a research director, managing global accounts.  Prior to that, he worked at Nielsen as well as several boutique consulting agencies in Perth.

Brown has extensive experience in business development, survey design, and set up and implementation of large global tracking studies, from both an operational and consulting perspective.

Since Brown moved to Sydney in 2015 to take on the role of ANZ sales director, SSI’s panel in ANZ has more than doubled in size and the company has helped customers with more than 8 million completed surveys.  Projects have covered B2B, B2C, multi country and mobile methodologies with more than 300 corporations and agencies based in Australia and New Zealand.  The SSI ANZ team has offices in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand.

“Derek plays a pivotal role as we continue to fuel our rapid growth and accelerate our momentum in the region” said Mark Lepine.  “He’s a proven leader, who has the right blend of management and sales experience to lead our investment in the ANZ market.”
